1.) The Grey
I thought this was a very disappointing movie. I saw it with my girlfriend and a friend, and halfway through the movie we were bored and joking about how bad some parts of it were. The cruddy wolf sound effects, the BS philosophy, the way so many "situations" were obvious plot devices.... It just wasn't a good movie. I was pretty surprised to find that the greater public seems to have received it pretty well. Who knows? Maybe I'm wrong on this one. Let me know what you think?
I will say that I liked the ending. From what I understand, people found it to be very disappointing, but I actually thought it fit the movie and succeeded in making partial redemption for some of the more boring parts.
2.) Working out with my girlfriend
My girlfriend recently joined my gym, and we have been working out together. I desperately need a workout partner, and I love hanging out with her, so this is a great situation.
It isn't without some road bumps though. When I was struggling with a last rep on the squat she decided to encourage me with a weird noise somewhere between a Chewbacca howl and an owl call..... I almost lost the weight.
3.) Kombucha

| Yeah... I know. |
In the course of my struggles with heartburn and GERD, I discovered Kombucha. This stuff is magical. Aside from almost immediately alleviating heartburn when I get it, it just makes me feel better and gives me a very complete and healthy feeling energy buzz. I also kind of like the fizzy taste, and it apparently loads people up with good, healthy probiotics.
Ithaca has a great GreenStar that makes it weekly so you can just get some fresh, but I have also experimented with the bottled stuff and found that it's usually pretty good (although not quite as amazing). Definitely give it a shot!
4.) Boardwalk Empire
My girlfriend got me into Boardwalk Empire. I have to admit that in the beginning, I didn't want to like it (and didn't like it), but over the course of the first season it has grown on me. The set and scenery is awesome, and most of the acting is good. Steve Buscemi is also one of the most recognizable dirtbag actors of the modern era, so it's pretty interesting seeing him in a likeable role. Phil Hoffman, of course, is the ultimate dirtbag, though... seriously, I get skeeved out every time I see him in a movie.
5.) SUPER BOWL
GO GIANTS!!!
As a side note, did you know you can stream the Super Bowl from your iPhone if you have Verizon. Seriously? These phones are the most amazing things... they still blow my mind.
